Simon Says Instruction

Purpose: To develop laterality awareness and control.

Materials: None.

Procedure:

This should serve as a starting point for the activity and you should feel free to be creative in how you do this activity.

This is a game where you ask your child to do certain things such as raise his or her arms or legs. But they do the task only if you say “Simon Says” first.

Play the game “Simon Says” but incorporate LEFT and RIGHT. For example: “Simon says raise your RIGHT leg!” “Simon says use your LEFT hand to touch your RIGHT ear!” “Simon says hop on your LEFT leg!”

Try speeding things up with a metronome.
