Eyes OK I’m OK

Individual chapters from Dr. Harold Wiener’s book ‘Eyes OK I’m OK’, from OEPF.org. These activities can be helpful for working with children with vision-related learning problems. The notes and activities presented in the book will be of interest to occupational therapists, teachers, and it is also recommended for parents interested in working directly with their children.

Simply doing these activities will not ‘cure’ learning disabilities. Reading and learning troubles are most often due to a variety of concerns adding up to create a bigger problem. When children struggle, appropriate professional guidance is recommended to ensure good health and school readiness. The activities and ideas presented in the book are general enough that they will provide benefit to children where prior knowledge and skills are adequate.

Any child suspected of reading or learning problems should be assessed for developmental or functional vision problems. See Providers for more information.
